Cochin: Heralding a new era in ship building and marketing in India, Cochin Shipyard Ltd will deliver the first in the series of six bulk carrier vessels, Bossclip Trader, to Clipper Groups Bahamas on Monday.The protocol documents will be exchanged between Cochin Shipyard and Clippers at 4 p.m. on Monday in the presence of Kerala High Court Chief Justice V.K.Bali."The deal with Clippers is the first series order for large ships and this is the first major order from abroad," said sources at the CSL.Bossclip Trader, with a carrying capacity of 30,000 Dead Weight Tonnes (DWT) is a single crew diesel engine driven bulk carrier for unrestricted worldwide service. This 178.7-metre ship with a breadth of 28 metres and 14 metres depth is a milestone achievement in the annals of Cochin Shipyard.It stands tall in every aspect of ship building as it meets the requirements of Type B ships defined by the International Convention of Load Lines and is built as per the highest standards of American Bureau of Shipping.
